New jobs Created By Tompkins County IDA Projects Produced $37 Million In Wages In 2007
Ithaca, NY, Based on the 2007 jobs report for Industrial Development Agencies that is filed with New York State, the Tompkins Country’s IDA again showed very impressive results. The projects listed in the report created over $37 Million in salaries based on the new jobs they created. When the jobs already existing at the IDA Projects are added in, the figure rises to over $100 million in total salaries.
This is not only very good news for Tompkins County and its residents who are benefiting from these newly created jobs. This is good news for IDAs as they have been criticized as not being an effective tool for creating new jobs.
