Heather Filiberto Receives Certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional

Ithaca, NY Heather Filiberto has received her certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) from The National Development Council. Ms. Filiberto currently serves as the Director of Economic Development Services and Empire Zone Coordinator for Tompkins County Area Development (TCAD).

The Economic Development Finance Professional Certification Program is a rigorous set of courses that explores the skills essential for the successful practice of economic development—business credit and real estate finance analysis techniques, loan packaging procedures, negotiating and problem solving skills and deal structuring techniques.  Participants in the EDFP Certification Program build the capacity to translate development opportunities into results for their communities.

About The National Development Council
The National Development Council is the oldest national non-profit community and economic development organizations in the U.S.  It was founded in 1969 with one purpose: increasing the flow of capital for investment, jobs and community development to underserved urban and rural areas across the country.  Since that time, NDC has worked with thousands of communities in every one of the 50 states and Puerto Rico, providing technical assistance, professional training, investment in affordable housing, small business financing and direct developer services.
