Company to invest over $47 million on new technology and has pledged to create over 170 jobs in Ithaca
Empire State Development, Upstate Chairman Daniel Gundersen today announced that BorgWarner Morse TEC plans to invest over $47 million and has pledged to create 174 jobs to produce its new Variable Cam Timing (VCT) product line in Ithaca, New York.
BorgWarner Morse TEC and its predecessors’ history in the Ithaca area dates back 125 years and Governor Spitzer is committed to helping them continue investing and growing in this community,” Chairman Gundersen said. “As a result of this partnership, the company is pledging to secure more than 1,300 jobs, is relocating its manufacturing facility from Oklahoma and has also pledged to add an additional 174 jobs over time. We rolled up our sleeves and got this done knowing it will have a tremendous impact on the local community.”
BorgWarner Morse TEC will relocate its manufacturing of VCT systems to Ithaca from its Sallisaw, Oklahoma plant and plans to introduce three to six more products in the future.
