Our community is shaped in
many ways by Cornell University, the eminent Ivy League school. Companies
connect with the university for many reasons, and businesses throughout
the world look to Cornell University for innovation and cutting-edge research.
The competitive advantage that Cornell provides to business affects recruiting,
research, technology transfer, executive education, and international
partnerships. Some of the most prestigious programs for business partnerships
are found at Cornell University: School of Veterinary Medicine; National
Nanofabrication Facility; Boyce Thompson Institute, the College of Argiculature
and Life Sciences; Advanced Materials and the Cornell Synchronotron Source;
Johnson Graduate School of Management; the National Astronomy and Ionosphere
Center; and the Center for Advanced Technology in Biotechnology (CAT).
Ithaca College is the largest
private residential college in New York State. Primarily an undergraduate
teaching institution, the School of Music, Park School of Communication,
and the School of Health Science and Human Performance consistently rank
among the best in the United States. Ithaca College has experienced tremendous
growth in endowment reserves and operating revenues. Twelve new buildings
have been constructed on the South Hill campus and two new major renovations
broke gorund in 1997. Tompkins Cortland Community College experienced a 3 percent growth in enrollment in the 1997-98 academic year, a trend which is expected to continue. Noncredit training is offered to residents and businesses through TC3's Business Development and Training Center. |
