Regardless of where I travel, the mention of Ithaca and Tompkins County usually brings a smile and then a story.  Often the story involves a personal connection, and regardless of whether recent, or half a lifetime ago, it always has something to do with people and place. Whether we call it community, quality of life, or something else, it’s why many of us choose to set our anchor here.

Since our founding in 1964, TCAD has been promoting community by fostering partnerships among businesses, Cornell University, Ithaca College, government, and area non-profits to attract, retain, and grow companies that provide high-quality jobs. I hope that you will take a few moments to read about these partnerships and how they have created the quality of life that makes so many of us proud to call Tompkins County our home.
